Project Monday- Advent calendar

This Advent calendar is a case from one that was shared at the Portland Regional Seminar on Oct 23 2010. Unfortunately I did not write down the presenter's name.
BUT I loved her project so much that I stopped on my way home to purchase all the supplies to recreate it!

So I am sure you want all the details.....

I started out with a frame purchased from IKEA with an 11 x 15 inch opening. Metal flashing was cut by a friend. I purchased the Christmas Cheer Simply Scrappin' Kit from Stampin' Up! ( # 117401 $19.95) and I purchased the tins from Oriental Trading company.

I used the Basic rhinestone Jewels from Stampin' Up! (# 119247 $4.95) and some 1/8 inch taffeta ribbon ( Early Espresso #119959) the Snowflake punch ( #119859 $16.95) and Snowflakes set 2 Sizzlets ( #113449 $19.95)

I really love how the Simply Scrappin kit is so easy to use. This project went together so fast!

I had some adhesive backed magnet sheets that I cut to fit on the back of the tins.

I attached each embellishment to the the tins using Mini glue dots.

I really like to add the Basic Grey to the Bashful Blue... I think it really is a nice subtle color combo.

I like how the circle punch fits nicely behind the label punch.

and Brads always help finish a card off... don't you think??

I wish I could say this was all me... but really I don't think that there really ever is a card that is not inspired some way from someone, or something that we have seen. That being said I cannot for the life of me remember where I saw a similar card. I do love the Crumb cake and Cherry Cobbler together! and really how simple is this card?

The rhinestones on the top are just the right touch I think.
Okay so if you get this card for Christmas from me, just be nice and pretend that you have never seen it, okay??? Cuz you know I am going to make a bunch of this one!!

Merry Crittermas

Here are a few samples of my new favorite set Merry Crittermas out of the Stampin' Up! Holiday mini catalog.

This card uses the Curly Lable punch ( cut in half and placed behind the circle punch to look larger) the 1 3/4 inch cirlce punch and the dotted scallop ribbon punch.

Merry Crittermas tree card uses Marna Mist Ribbon, and cs, along with Bashful Blue cs and the new Snow flurry embossing folder.

I colored the image using my Stampin' Write Markers, and I used a blender pen to soften them. Sahara Sand is my favorite color for shadows... what do you think?

Project Mondays???

Its been awhile, I know....
But I do have a great one to share this week though... This is a card, but I think you will really like it... this also happened to be one of my swap cards for the Saturday Oct 23rd 2010 Portland Regional seminar.

For this card I used the Stamp set Inspired By Nature. I used Nat quite Navy, Crumb Cake and Versa Mark ink pads. Also used Poppy Parade marker, Poppy parade DSP, Confetti white, Not Quite Navy and Crumb Cake cs. Victoria ribbon, shimmer brads ( from the Holiday Mini), scallop edge punch, 1/2 inch circle punch and clear embossing powder.

The technique used is emboss resist. I first stamped the "Live with Passion" image in NQN, then I stamped the flower in versamark and embossed with the clear powder. I then randomly stamped the words again.

The next step was to place some Poppy Parade ink on the top of the flower, and swipe it off with a sponge. then I sponged the Crumb Cake and NQN ink over the image.

I then punched the DSP, and attached the 1/2 inch circle and the ribbon using a glimmer brad

OK so I am sure that you noticed the small hole that can be seen in the second and third photos. My youngest son decided he really wanted to help, so he grabbed my 1/16 hole punch and punch a few things in my stamp room. I with I had a door for my stamp room!!

check out this awesome care I made using punches...

can you guess which Stampin' Up! punches I used?

Well its pretty obvious that I used the circle and oval punches... I also used the word window punch ( for the stems) the two step Bird extra large punch ( the leaves)

and the ghosts....

are made using the Two step Owl extra large punch....

So to make the owl turn into a ghost, you will punch out owl using whisper white cs, and trim the feet off, turn upside down and add some eyes.

I did not come up with this great idea.... but isn't it cool!

So Sorry I have been MIA for so long... I am not sure how so many of you work a "day" job and have the time to be super creative all week! I suppose it will take some getting used too! I am going to try to do better!!! I really have missed sharing my fun creations with you! ( although I have not made alot lately!)
BUT anyway here is one that I can share,

I made using some of the retired paper, Cottage wall and one of my favorite sets, Vintage Vogue.

SO if you have any tips on better time management for me, please share... Remember that I do have 4 boys, and work outside the home now.

Project Monday's are Back!!

I know it has been a while... what ever happened to sticking to a resolution anyway???

Well I am trying to be better, and I hope you like what you will be seeing in the next few weeks! I have many projects already done, just waiting to share, and plan on making many more!

So I bet you just really want the scoop on this one huh?

Okay so I saw a really cool idea in the NEW Stampin' Up! Catalog... Which I know you are all dying to see ( you can pre-order a catty from me- or get one free by booking a party!)

Okay so back to my Project... I went to the thrift store looking for a cool old frame... no luck, but found one the same size as a frame I had in the house, so I bought it and swapped them out. i bought a can of green spray pant and spent all day coating my very cool frame, cool huh?

I love this frame, but it was a bit gaudy! It has velvet on it! wasn't sure how that would end up looking after I painted it, but looks pretty good!

Then I took my husbands handy square and marked off where I was going to place my wire. I hammered in a ton of little wire nails and then wrapped ( well Mike did that part, lol) the wire all around the frame, making a grid.

I then added my Library clips (from Stampin' Up! of course) so I can hang stuff from it!

So here it is... I love how this looks on my Tangerine tango wall!

Oh and the color of the frame? It very closely resembles one of the new "In Colors"

June Card class 2010

This month I am focusing on retiring products, colors and the Summer Mini. BUT there are some cards that I had to make because of the season!
This card was inspired by Julie Davison, I liked the layout she used, and wanted to use the same technique, but ended up changing it to my liking!

I used Elegant Eggplant, More Mustard and Old olive markers and cs. I inked up the stamp from the set Watercolor Trio, then after stamping on Whisper White, I spritzed the image with my Stampin' mist to give it a softer, more water colored look.

This card was inspired by Michelle Singer. It is a very patriotic card, I think! It only uses the Sparkle stamp from Warm Words ( which is retiring!) I first punched the star out , then lined up the scallop square punch and punched it out. Then I outlined the star with 2-way glue pen and sprinked Dazzling Diamonds glitter on.
I used Brilliant Blue Whisper White and Real Red cs for this card.

I also used the Real Red Polka dot ribbon, love it! After stampin sparkle in Real Red ink, I outlined it with the 2-way glue pen, then added the Dazzling Diamonds.

Here is a very simple card with a big impact! Now I would love to take credit for this one, but I saw a very similar one, but I cannot remember where... if it is yours would you please let me know?

To make this card I first started with a card front, then used my square punch to make a template ( I punched it twice to make a rectangle) However I wasn't able to punch it in the center, so I just of set the template when I used it...

I sponged Bashful Blue in the rectangle onto my White card base. Then I used Always Artichoke and Bravo Burgundy Stamp n write markers to color the image on the Water color trio set ( from the Summer Mini)

I stamped it just outside of the blue rectangle, then I stamped my words ( my favorite ever) from the set Favorite thoughts ( again from the Summer mini) in Always Artichoke.

To get the great sparkle I used my glue pen to fill in the flowers, then added Dazzling Diamonds glitter.

Criss Cross

It has been a while sense my last post, I am very sorry for that... BUT I think you will enjoy this card! And if you are in Florence Oregon on Monday you can make one! ( I know shameless plug for my card class)

This is a Criss Cross card, I learned how to make this from the resource section on Splitcoast stampers.

For this card I featured many retiring products, Razzleberry DSP, Vintage Brads, Clear Buttons, and Melon Mambo Polka dot Ribbon. Along with Banquet Bunch stamp set from the current Mini catalog. The card base Melon Mambo, the insert is Rich Razzleberry, and US white.

For the Band I used textured white cs, wrapped with a piece of Melon Mambo ribbon. The Jumbo flower punch out of Melon Mambo. I tied a piece of crochet thread around a scrap ribbon and through the clear button.

The image again is from the Banquet Bunch stamp set ( Summer Mini 2010) I stamped the vase and flowers in Basic grey, used a blender pen to color the vase with Rich razzleberry, and a marker to color the flowers ( then scribbled the blender pen over the flowers to soften)

Funky Folds Class- Tri-Shutter card

I know it has been awhile sense my last post. As I told you last time, I have been suffering from stampers block, but good news.... I think I got my MOJO back!! (in part even by the MOJO challenges!)
So here it is this weeks Funky fold class, Tri-shutter cards. I wasn't sure that I could make to totally different types of the same fold, so we just made 2 different cards.
Card One uses Bouquet Bunch (clear item #120039 $10.95 or wood item # 118529 $13.95) a new stamp set from the Stampin' Up! Summer mini catalog (pg 21) It is a set that I almost didn't even see! But is my FAV!
For this card we use Old Olive cs for the base, Rich Razzleberry cs (layers) and Cottage Wall DSP ( #115671 $9.95) I used the Scallop circle #2 die from Sizzix (old olive) and the Circle Scissor Plus ( #112530 $ 29.95) this was the first time I use the Circle Scissor Plus in class... SO EASY to use!! Just don't for get you need the glass mat (#112531 $19.95)

Even though I was using the clear mount set, I did use my Stamp -a-ma-jig. I have been using this alot lately! I stamped all the images in Basic Gray, and used markers to color,Pale Plum, Rich Razzleberry Old Olive and So Saffron and then blended with a Blender pen ( a must have!!)

For card Two it was basically the same card, but we used DSP from the occasions mini which is not longer available but I LOVE this paper pad. You can get it for your MDS as a download YEAH!

For the stamp set I used Watercolor Trio from the Summer Mini catalog (pg 16 clear item # 120084 $16.95) I stamped the leafy image with Taken with Teal, and used the markers to color the flower image. Rose Red, So Saffron and Taken with Teal. I stamped off several times with each image to get generation stamped images.

Also used on this card was the Beautiful Wings embosslet ( #118138 $ 11.95) and the Eyelet border punch.

I watched the video that Beate Johns had on Splitcoast stampers she has the best tutorials! I paper pierced the circle using her little trick, line up the line of the template ( from the mat pack) with the edge of the shape you are piercing. With the paper piercer still in the template slightly twist the template so that the line above the next hole to be pierced is on the edge of the shape. Keep doing this all the way around your shape. This way you can pierce any shape and have them evenly spaced! Check out the video.

Okay so now that you have seen them,I know you want to make one too!

Here are the simple directions for more detailed one check out Splitcoast stampers (which is where I got them from!)

card base 12 x 5 1/2

score at 2, 4, 8, 10

turn and line up at 1 1/2 inches then cut from the 10 score line down to the 2 inch score line

move to the 4inch mark and cut again from the 10 to the 2 inch score line.

Mountain valley fold all score lines, then take the center and fold opposite.

then layer each piece as desired!

Stair step card #2

My Funky Folds class the other night was a big hit... It took my stampers a bit longer than they are used to though!!
BUT I did warn them that it was an advanced class!! This was the favorite of the night... they all loved the Fifth Avenue Floral card, but who can resist cupcakes??

this is a side view.. again I got the idea off of Splitcoast, but altered the dimensions to fit my theme... and I wanted it to fit into a "regular" envelope.....

Coloring was with a mix of inkpads, and markers.. the image was stamped in basic Black and colored with chocolate chip, Regal Rose and Pretty in Pink, shadows where done in Shara Sand

The cupcake was stamped 2 times using Regal Rose classic ink, once on Regal Rose cs and once on US white, then cut out. the Flowers were also punched in Regal Rose.

the center step has the sentiment....

I think this is my favorite part of the card... I just love those cupcakes from the hostess set " The more the merrier" They were colored and cut out, then placed using dimensionals.

Card base 5 ½ x 8 ½ (Pretty in Pink)
Cut 2 ¼ inches in from 7/8 to 6 3/8
On the wider side, Score up to cut line at 7/8, 1 ¾, 3, at 4 ¼ all the way across and up to the cut line at 6 3/8 .
mountain fold the section that only has one score line.
Mountain and valley fold the score lines, with the center fold down,
Layer and add embellishments

I used Chocolate Chip and Regal Rose with this card.

So have you every went to the store to get something and found lots of other things that you just had to have? I went into a Quilt shop here in Florence call Wend-Daze ( I think) it is just north of Fredmeyers on HWY 101. I have always loved that store, but don't go in very often... I have way more fabric already than I know what to do with!
BUT look what I found... I can't wait to make some supper cute purses with these!!
Oh and I just went in for the pink, and the chocolate color. That chocolate is so perfect... it is so dark!!

So as soon as I get them all made I will share a pic with you... who knows I may even make up so to sell!!

Directions for Stair Step card

Stair Step cards
You can make these cards many different ways, but here are the dimensions to recreate this one that we made at Funky folds class ( 4-12-10)

Card stock size 5 ½ x 11 score at 1,2,4,6 and 8 ½ ( Rose red )
mountain and valley fold score lines
Layer cardstock or Designer paper onto card base.
Add embellishments.

Coloring technique used this month, water coloring with markers. Stamp image in basic black, on US white cardstock then let dry. Using marker color of choice, draw a line next to the image lines. Use a blender pen to move color. Repeat for darker colors. When finished with lightest color move onto a darker shade.

Funky Folds class- Stair step card

The Card Measures fits into a standard A2 envelope.

I Love this mix of colors.... Rose red, So Saffron, Pumpkin Pie and Old Olive.

This card uses Fifth Avenue Floral, Beautiful butterflies sizzix die ( with so saffron dsp) scallop edge punch ( from SAB catty ) the 2 step Bird punch and old olive ribbon from the Holiday Mini catty

Okay so this weekend the weather was SO NICE it was like summer here on the Oregon Coast! It was a bit chilly, but the sun was shinning and the birds were singing, and my family and I got so much yard work done! We mowed the lawn, and de-webbed the house ( cedar shingles and a lot of tall trees and a house near to the lake = lots of spiders!! yuck!)
So anyway I was not inside at all, and so I decided instead of staying up till the wee hours of the night I would instead share some cards I have made. I will post a cool project ( I have it in the works) in a day or two.

This is a complete case out of the Stampin' Up! idea book and catalog (2009-2010)

For this weeks project I wanted to do something a little different, I have been loving working with fabric, as I am a quilter too.. I love fabric, so anything to incorporate fabric into my stamping makes me happy!
To start this weeks Project I got out my Basket and Blooms XL die from Stampin' Up! and ran 2 pieces of felt ( I used off white) through at once. I knew I would want to make more than one, lol!

For this project I only needed the basket pieces. I put the others away for use on something else.

I folded a small piece of pink felt in half and placed it over the small butterfly on the Bigz Beautiful Butterflies die from Stampin' Up! and ran it through the Big Shot.

I placed a butterfly on the basket where I wanted it and stitched it in place using lavender floss ( 2 strands) Then I used a pen to lightly draw my antennae.

I used 3 small off white pearls from the Pretties kit from Stampin' Up! and stitched them on for the body, then stitched the antennae.

I used a bright pink floss to stitch up the basket. I did on side at a time, then I stitched the bottom on.

as you can see from this photo I added a butterfly to both sides of this basket... I will only add one the any others that I make... I was having so much fun that I wanted it to be pretty from both sides!

and the Finished project, I am excited to make more of these for Easter!!

oops.. project Mondays... on Wednesday

I have to apologize, I didn't mean to miss posting on Monday. It was a crazy weekend. I have had a bit of a head cold, and that has kinda put me into a fog... my husband had Monday off of work, and the kids had Friday off... so I was all messed up!!

We had a death in the family on Sunday. If you pray, please do so for my Aunt, her children and grandchildren.

On a much lighter note, on Saturday Mike and I took the kids to the beach, I live 5 minutes from the ocean and I never go! But Sat. was such a beautiful day we had to go!
The sun was out, the wind was NOT and it was warm! The boys had fun, and we found some great sea shells!

Look at all these shells on the beach! I hit the jackpot here! I don't keep shells, but my mom and mil do. So they will be happy with my find!

I took tons of pics of the waves breaking.. it was a great pic taking day! ( I pretend that I will use my pics for painting later.. lol)

Nathaniel and Chance had a great time!

On to my project... not a new one, but a I made another purse using the Scallop Square Bigz die from Stampin' Up! This time I made a smaller bag.

I added a pocket to the inside of the bag, I "need" pockets.. lol.

So I have seen so many cool projects lately with felt and the Big Shot that I had to give it a try!
For my first one I think it turned out pretty great! I totally copied this from Janet Wakeland
I saw what she did, and went for it! I didn't really check out her directions ( I am sure she had some) but just jumped in and made my own!
This one is going to be for my girly products in my purse ( you know what I mean) lol! I got that great idea from another talented lady Connie Stewart

So I know you are dieing to figure out how I made this, right???

Okay to start you will need felt... and sense I have been seeing so many cool things lately I figured I better get more than just the sheets from the craft store so I went to Wal-mart ( just happened to be in Eugene yesterday, how handy! )

BUT you wont need this much for this little project! just a sheet that is about 5 x 12 inches long. I used the fancy favor box to get the cool scallops on the top of my pouch.

This is what you get once you run it through your Big Shot!

You will need to cut off the bottom of the "box", however next time I make this I think I will fold over the bottom edge, no need to have all that waste!
Next I used a piece of Pink felt and ran it through with the Flower layers with leaf die.

I used Brown thread to sew my pouch closed. I wanted the thread to show. I stitched along the side then the bottom to close the pouch up.

Once I had my pouch all sewn up I added my flower that I had cut out, and then I added a flower and leaf from the Sweet Pea stitched felt pack from the Occasions mini catalog. I love that stuff!!
To finish it all off I added an adhesive Velcro to the inside so my "stuff" doesn't fall out!

Well again Organization is my thing!! I am happy that I have found so many fun things to make that will help me be more organized!

So this week I made a Birthday box... well I didn't really make it I just used the Forget-me-not Keeper from Stampin' Up! and I added a little some pizzazz to it!

I made a perpetual calendar for the dividers. This way you can add the names of your friends and family that you send cards too, and use it year after year!

I am having a class on this project, cost is $25 for one Birthday box.( this includes the Forget-me-not Keeper- $11.95) I am having this class on Sat Jan 30th, so If you want to attend I need your payment by Monday Jan 25th so I can order the boxes!

If you want to make this and you will not be in Florence Oregon this weekend and you want to make this I am offering it as a kit as well! Cost for the kit is also $25. Just email me and we can get it set up ( haven't figured out the PayPal button thing yet! )

I have been busy this week! Here is something my Club members are making tonight. I was inspired by the LNS challenge 54. Which happens to be an inspiration challenge, lol!

to make this bad boy you will need a piece of Sahara Sand cs 7 1/2" x 3 1/4 ", this is for standard sticky notes and a mini calendar. You will score at 1", 1 1/4", 4 1/4" and 4 1/2" I cut my layers for the top at 2 1/2" x 2 1/2" ( black) and 2 3/4" x 2 3/4" ( pink) a 3 1/4" x 3/4" strip of Pretty in pink was used for the scallop trim border. The Bird punch was used with Us White, Old Olive and a piece of Sweet Pea DSP. To close the mini book I used 2 small pieces of magnetic sheets ( left over from all those Bears I made at Christmas, which I just realized i never shared with you! soon )

Projewct Mondays #3

OPPS the 3 day weekend has me all messed up... I thought today was Sunday! So I guess you want to see what I did for this weeks project huh?

I have been wanting to make a purse for quit a long time... I have great intentions to get these things done, but with 4 boys I stay pretty busy, and my stuff gets put on the back burner a lot!
Anyway back to the project. I have seen these all over the web, lots of people have been making them, but I still wanted to share with you the one I made!

This is a big Shot Purse, using the Scallop square die from Stampin' Up! You can cut through 8 or more layers of fabric at a time! ( it all depends on the type of fabric) You will want to experiment to find the right amount for you to use.

For the purse you will need 38 scallop squares of fabric, and 19 squares of batting. I made both the inside and out side the same fabric, made it easier for me!

You will take the fabric and and batting to make a sandwich, make the fabric right sides out ( which is hard to remember if you sew much, it just seems wrong! lol) You will sew and X on each sandwich. I started by doing one side and making a chain ( see below)

once I was done with that chain I cut them apart and did the other side of the X. Once that was done I sewed the pieces together. 6 for the front 6 for the back, 2 for each side and 3 across for the bottom. I sewed the front to the bottom and that to the back, then I sewed the sides to the bottom, I wish I had taken a pic of that step for you... so it was then laid out like a funky + sign. I pinned the sides up to the front a back and then sewed them together.

I made my straps using 2 pieces of fabric 2 1/2 by 24 inches long. and a closing strap that started off 2 x 12 inches long. For this you could make them however yo wanted, you could even use ribbon! To attach them I placed them in the center of the outside squares, and pin them in place. make sure it is how you want them...

I attached a button ( I used a kiwi kiss corduroy button here) in the center of the square on the front panel. then I placed my closing strap how I wanted it, tucked inside the squares on the back of the purse. also pin that in place.

Once the straps are all how you like them take it to the sewing machine. Sew around the whole purse ( I found it easier to take the front off the sewing machine like for sewing sleeves and such) you will want to reinforce the straps by sewing over them again.

Then you are done! You can take a pair a REALLY sharp scissors and snip just to the seam all the scallops, this will take a long time, but you will get a more shabby look. also if you sew a button on the inside ( just back to back with the front button ) you can turn your purse inside out!

Project Mondays #2

I can hardly believe that it is already the second week in 2010! And I have been pretty good at keeping up with my resolutions so far! But as you can see I have a way to go to get all the way there!!

This weeks project is still in line with my new organization kick! For this project I made 4 clip boards using the new Chalk Board vinyl from Stampin' Up! and designer paper from the Sweet Pea the paper pad ( my new favorite!)

I knew this would be a trial and error type of project... nothing ever goes the way you have it planned in your head!

To start off you will need a clip board like this one ( it is 12 1/2 x 9 1/4 inches)

please don't ask where I got them... I have had them for at least 3 years..But I bet I got them at the Dollar store.
You will need to make a template for the top like this one below.

I just used a piece of plan typing paper for this step. Cut it out and make sure it is a good fit!

Then you will need to trace it onto your piece of Designer paper. I had DSP pre-cut 6 x 9 1/4. carefully cut on your pencil lines.

Then use your Modge Podge and coat the top half of your clip board. Carefully place your DSP and rub all the bubbles out. Once it is dry, trim away the excess paper from the corners and edges. Then brush on a thin layer of Modge Podge over the top, be sure the get the edges too!

While this is drying you will want to cut out your Chalk Board. I cut mine 7 1/2 x 9 1/4. Also I used 2 strips of cork board, cut these 2 x 9 1/4 . I cut out my letters using the Bigz Alphabet Simple letters ( I knew I need this die for something!!) For the board here I used Chocolate Chip card stock.
Place the Chalk board onto the bottom of the clip board, smooth it out carefully! Then modge podge your letters into place.

I tried to modge podge the cork, that doesn't work! so I had to wait for that to dry so I could try something else! I first stapled the 2 strips together, then I used sticky strip to attach it to the clip board, covering my seam from the chalk board. Edit-That didn't work, well it stuck, BUT if you want to actually use it, its not so good. SO I ended up stapling the first piece of cork to the clip board about 5 different spots, then I glued the top piece to the bottom one and stapled on just the outside edge. That seems to be holding for now!

If I had a girl I would add some cute flowers or something to dress it up, but sense this is for one of my 4 boys I will leave it as is!

The final result I like! not sure how my kids will like me leaving them notes about chores, but I am sure that they will get over it!

This is something new... I will be posting something every Monday! one of the many New Years resolutions that I have!

Today's project is a Recipe Box. Or more importantly a few of them!!

One of my many New year resolutions is to get more organized! Honesty I have the same one every year, but his year is my year!!

Every year around Christmas I start to do my baking, and I can never find that "one" recipe! Also I am constantly looking up the same recipes from my many cook books....

notice the top of the cook books, loose recipes on sheets of paper. and if I was brave I would let you see the inside of those binders! SCARY!

So I came up with a brilliant idea, I turned a stationary kit into a recipe box, (see top photo bottom left) BUT I really wanted some thing that would last, that I could have out in the kitchen and not worry about water and grease and dust... cuz I live in my house, lol... oh and I have 4 boys remember!!

So I was at the Cash King just before Christmas when I spotted these really ugly, but super cheap cardboard recipe boxes... and well you can cover anything with paper!

so I remembered that I had bought the cutest paper a few years ago, I don't recall the exact name, I didn't save the backing board that had the name. And because I am sure you are all just like me and buy paper because you might "need" it for something... and if you have a use for it, then you buy 2 just in case you need it later, yep that's me to a T!! ( oh I don't have the board with the name, because I used it for some other project..)

So back to the project... I measured the boxes and I was so happy to find out that one sheet of 12 x12 would cover the box and the lid!! For my boxes I cut 2 strips at 3 1/8th x 12 for the base of the box, and a piece that was 51/2 x 7 1/2 for the lid.

For this project I used Modge Podge, I am sure Crystal effects would have worked, but I wasn't sure I had enough for all 4 boxes!

I wrapped the strips on the base, making sure not to go to high so the boxes would still close well. almost 1/4 inch hung off the bottom. When the base was dry, I used my exacto knife to cut a slit so I could "wrap" the paper onto the bottom, I then modge podged it there too..

For the lid I scored the paper at 1 inch all around and cut 1 inch in on the 7 1/2 sides. I placed the lid in the center of the paper and carefully wrapped the lid. Once it was dry I used my exacto knife to trim away any excess so the box would close nicely. I then brushed on a thin coat of Mondge Podge. I got out my chip board and covered 2 letters in Chocolate chip craft ink and 2 in Creamy Caramel. I tried Vanilla craft, but it doesn't cover chip board well.

I made 4 boxes, I have "e" for everyday meals, "a" for appitizers, "d" for desserts, and "h" for Holiday recipes.

Okay, I know I was doing so good about posting and sharing with you, what happened??? Well my recovery from my little surgery is a bit slower than I thought it would be, and well, I have been SOOO busy!
BUT there is a new year coming, and with a new year is always New Years Resolutions! THESE are my resolutions:
I will post every Monday! I will share something super cool on Mondays! I will share a how too, along with some really great samples.
I will stamp for myself !
I will not be so BLAH in my stamping! I have been in a bit of a rut, not so say that simple isn't great too, sometimes the simple cards are the best ones, but everything I make doesn't have to take 10 minutes or less!

I would share something really cool with you right now, but its not Monday! Oh and my son stole my camera! Have to locate it before next week!!!

when life throws you lemons....

Its best to make lemonade. But sometimes you are just to tired! I have had quit a time lately.

First we had the flu, busy with football games and practices, then all the hunting and fishing. Last Monday I was admitted to the hospital, I had emergency gal bladder surgery on Tuesday morning! I had no idea I was having gallbladder problems until i had my husband drive me the the ER on Monday. NOT FUN! Doc says I will be up to my usual self in about another week, YEAH!

So I was sitting her this am, getting ready for my Craft fair this weekend (which I am WAY not ready for, thanks to the surgery) and the school calls, before class even starts! Nathaniel had tripped in the gym and broke his front tooth in half! OUCH!!
So I rush to the school ( not showered yet either) and then to DR. Hunt the dentist. They are so great at his office, they had him fixed good as new in a little more than an hour! you can't even tell! My only regret, I forgot to bring my camera to get a good pic of Nathaniel and is half tooth. If I can figure out how to get the pics off my phone I will share!

so I hope I have lots of goodies to share with you tomorrow. and IF you are in the Florence/Reedsport area this weekend go check out the HUGE sale in Reedsport this weekend. Lots of great stuff!

Build a bear card

I am sorry I have been away so long. I have been very busy, and then got hit with gallbladder surgery! The good news is I will be feeling better very soon!

I want to share a card I made for Chance's 3rd Birthday, I love how it turned out, and it was so simple to make!

Basically I made the bear and then I didn't want to attach him to the card, I knew my son would want to tear it off, and that would ruin the card! So I had a great idea... I made a slip in the white layer of my card so I could slip a foot into it to hold him in place.

I stamped the Happy Bearthday in Brocade Blue and layered the white onto So saffron.

another Birthday

So November is full of birthdays... This is one I made for one of my BFF's, It was her 39th ( really, not an again) Her favorite colors are pink and black... And it had to be fab.

So I started off with a large flower from the Pretties kit, Melon Mambo ink (refill) and an Aqua Painter. I took lots of pics so I could share my process with you.

So to color the flower you need to pick up the ink with your wet Aqua Painter, I start in the middle of my flower ( because I know it will be covered later, lol)

I get the color on my flower, then if I want it darker I can add more, or the cool thing is that if it is too dark I can get it wet and remove some of the color!

While the flower was drying I took my Shimmer paint that was mixed with rubbing alcohol and sprayed a piece of Basic Black cs, I then used my 1 inch circle punch. See the shimmer?? I used mini glue dots to attach the punched piece to my flower.

I was not sure what I was doing, so I got out my scalloped edge punch and a piece of Melon Mambo cs and punch the edge. Then, I love the Night and Day DSP, so I took a piece of it and used a length of white organza ribbon across the center of the melon Mambo, but it didn't look right...

So I then got out a length of Black 1/2 in grosgrain ribbon and layered it across the center of the Organza ribbon. I so love how this looks!! I used the glue dots to hold the ribbon in place.

Next I placed my fully embellished DSP onto a Basic Black card base ( I attached a whisper white cs piece inside so I could write my message)

Then I added my beautiful Flower...

But it still needs something.... I tried to figure this out for a bit, then I thought I would add a sentiment using the modern label punch... but want to layer it with the larger one that goes with the movers and shapers Bigz xl die ( big shot) So I managed to figure out how to cut it out... was going to be fancy and not use the Bigz die... I know I saw someone cutting out with out it, but it was just easier to use it in the long run ( 5 seconds vs 10 minutes locating the directions....)

What a disaster that turned out to be!! I loved the saying I used, but wanted to use some bling.... not enough room for that!!

So I ended up just stamping my words ( from a little birthday cheer) and using the corner rounder and layering it with a little bigger piece also with the corner rounder....

What do you think... was it worth all my trouble, trials and errors???

I have been so busy... I hope you missed me! We have been battling lots of different bugs around here! I think the only one who never got sick was the dog!! We are all better, except my oldest, but he is a teenager so who knows how long this will take... he thinks he knows everything!

Anyway onto my card. I am so happy with how this turned out. I made this for my girlfriends 40th birthday (today) I was super busy all day and totally forgot to make it until 30 minutes before her party!! Its a good thing I knew what I wanted to make!

SO I started off with a piece of DSP from Razzleberry Lemon aide (item 115675 $9.95) then I used the scalloped edge punch across the bottom. I cut a piece of tempting Turquoise for the card base (11.5 x 4.25) folded in half. I layered the DSP on a piece of Whisper white cs that I stamped "Happy " from Happy everything stamp set ( item 115235 pg 142 $18.95) in Melon Mambo, then I tied a piece of Melon Mambo polka dot ribbon ( item 115611 $9.95) over the top. I made sure the knot was on the left. I stamped "Birthday" from the Happy everything set in tempting turquoise on the bottom edge of the white cs. I wrote "again" using the black journaling pen on a piece of WW and cut it to make a tag.

Here comes the best part.....

For the chip board numbers I used Frost White Shimmer paint ( item 116854 $5.95) and a drop of reinker ( Tempting turquoise on the 3, Melon Mambo on the 9 ) I used about 2 parts Shimmer paint to one part reinker. I painted the numbers using a paint brush. It only took about 15 minutes to dry, which was perfect sense my drive to her party was about 20 minutes away!!

Pop up Tree

Pop Up Christmas Tree table top decoration

I made this tree using the Pop up tree die from the Mini catalog, and Holiday Lounge Designer paper from the big catalog. I used the scalloped circle die with Sahara Sand card stock for the tree skirt, and So Saffron card stock for the star.

I punched holes in the edges of the tree with the 1/16th hole punch after the tree was put together. Then I ran silver cording through the holes to make a simple garland.

To make the tree stand up I punched out 2 of the base pieces and attached one to each side of the tree.

I have been having fun playing with this tree.... hope you enjoy

Christmas Tree Die card Class

Have you seen the Christmas tree pop up die in the Mini catalog ( item # 116882 $42.95)? Well it is pretty cool! Want to learn how to put it together before you buy it? I am having a class on this great die.

This is the card we will be making. It is the basic tree, with a bit of a kick! I will have samples that are a bit more decorated, but want your first time to go smoothly!

The class is $10. OR you may purchase a kit to make this at home, The kit will include everything you will need to make the card, pre cut cs, and tree with instructions. You will need supply your own Shimmer paint, ink and stamp sets to finish this card at home.

Christmas card

I am so loving My Digital Studio!
I whipped this card up in about 2 minutes! I started with a designer template card, and changed it up a bit! I added and removed a few things to my taste. My favorite thing to do is change the opacity of the colors. I love how it looks!

I am sorry...

I am very sorry for being absent for a few days! I had intended to have some great posts ready for you to post while I was away, but I ended up only having a little more than one hour to get ready to leave for my trip! That was not really enough time for me to pack myself, a 2 year old and make sure my 2 oldest boys had all their things....

BUT Jaeden got a deer opening day ( which is why we are back early). He was hunting with his uncle when he got it. He was glad he got it, but didn't want to have to go home, and back to school!

Here are some more pictures from my trip....

We woke up on Saturday morning to a dusting of snow. The boys were so excited! they scrapped as much snow off my car as they could to make a snow man!

It snowed almost a foot on Sunday morning!

Sense Jaeden had his deer he was at camp a little more, and he helped his brothers make this snow man on Sunday!

My first real Hybrid project!

I started off with this 8 x 8 scrap book page made on My Digital Studio from Stampin' Up! I used the designer pre-made page from the Rock-a-bye boy kit. I removed the bow that was on the page. I then printed it at home. That took a little bit of trial and error. You need to adjust the print settings. Make sure you put it on custom and move the borders so it will print the true size ( unless you want it to print smaller). Of course if you send it to the printing service through Stampin' Up! it will print true to size! Also I found that the color was more true ( with my printer any way, Stampin' Up! only guaranties true color on your projects when you use their printing services) when I printed on semi glossy photo paper. It looked pretty good on Whisper white, but I preferred the look on the photo paper.

After I printed the page I trimmed it. Then I layered it onto a piece of Chocolate chip cs ( 8 1/2 x 8 1/2) then I tied a piece of Choc. Chip ribbon around the page right on top of the printed piece of ribbon! I then layered again onto a piece of textured Very vanilla 12 x 12 cs.

I really love how this turned out! The whole process (even the printing errors) only took me 15 minutes! That's from start to finish! When was the last time you made a page that fast?

halloween Goodies

I am really getting into Halloween this year!!

This set Twick or Tweet, from Stampin' Up! is just too cute! I have used every image from it!
So about the card.....
I made the card base out of Basic Black CS, I layered it with Elegant Eggplant. Layered again with Basic Black and Whisper white... I stamped the pumpkin guy on a piece of Day and Night DSP ( LOVE IT ) and then I used my blender pen to color him with Pumpkin pie ink. I used Dimensionls to pop him up. I added a piece of day and Night DSP to the side of the white panel. i tied a piece of Basic Black grosgrain ribbon ( with a piece of eggplant ribbon ) around that panel. I added 2 black brads to the top. I stamped the words in Basic Black ink on the bottom of the center panel.
On the inside I added another piece of Eggplant cs so I could write in my card.

For the box...

I cut a piece of pumpkin pie cs to 4 1/4 x 11 I scored it at 3", 5", 8" and 10" then turned it and scored at 2" Basically it is a 2,4,6,8 box but not. lol I cut all my flaps and put it together. I stamped the bird from Twick or Tweet and colored him. i punched him out with the 1 3/8 punch, then I9 punched out a piece of black with the scalloped circle punch. i stamped the words and punched out with the designer label punch, and punched out a piece of basic black with the designer label punch to layer. I tied a piece of stripped Pumpkin pie ribbon around the box then attached the bird with dimesionals.

My Stampin' Up! story

My husband Mike and I married a little over 10 years ago, we had just moved close to his home town and I knew no one. As a wedding gift of sorts, one of his best friends wives wanted to help me make our invitations. We did most of it on the computer, but then we used these fancy scissors and a sticky pen and Embossing powder, Then this thing that should have belonged to a plumber to make the powder melt..... OH I was loving this!! So off the the craft store, I bought a rubber "thank you " stamp and 3 markers... I made my own thank you cards... all 100 of them using markers and a rubber stamp.

2 years later I was visiting my family over 500 miles away. My dad had given my husband a Boat. We went and while we were there my Sister in law invited me to a "Stamp Camp" We made a Birthday calendar. Each station had a different technique... and all these really cool rubber stamps and the ink.... I was in Heaven! It wasn't long and I was showing my mom, sisters and anyone else how to do the neat thing I just learned at each station. My Sister in law was quick on her feet, she knew I was leaving in the morning, so she gave me a catalog, and all the paperwork I would need to sign up, sense I was so far from her and I was so "great at helping others to stamp" . She told me all about this company that she sold for and all the fun things that go on. ALL the way home I talked to my husband about how much fun I had, I told him all about the neat stamps, and the Business opportunity. For 8 hours I talked about it. That Friday when we got paid my husband called to see what I was doing for the day, I told him how excited I was, I had just sent in my starter kit forms... he had no idea what I was talking about! MEN!!

I called the only person I knew in town and asked her to have a workshop.. I had never been to one, but they showed it on the video, so I knew I could do it. My first party was over $500!! I earned the Stampin' Start, and I only really knew 3 people in town, but that was soon to change! But I was just going to do enough workshops to pay for my new hobby...

Now almost 8 years later, I have 2 downline and LOTS of friends! I wouldn't know most of them if it wasn't for Stampin' Up! I still have never been to a Stampin' Up! workshop, besides my own! BUT I have so much fun, I LOVE to share what I love! and I am so blessed to have meet so many wonderful friends in person and online because of Stampin' Up!

Now more than ever I love my job! I have 4 boys, and if weren't for my Stampin' Up! business I would have to go outside my home to get a "real" job. What could be better than going to work playing with my rubber stamps and making wonderful gifts for friends, family and even strangers!

Oh and my husband has learned that he needs to pay attention when I am talking!

MDS cards

I have been busy all day playing with My Digital Studio from Stampin' up! Boy you are going to love this thing!! I made another album, and I just whipped up this card! The first photo is the card printed and then I added the REAL Old Olive grosgrain ribbon.

This next picture is the card in MDS, not printed with the "fake" ribbon.

I have been wanting to make this simple card sense I received my copy of MDS, but have been way to busy... and what do you know it only took me a few minutes to make! I could have had this done days ago! OH well...

So here are a few tips for you for printing your card at home, now mind you this is the first one I printed.

make sure you have your card stock of choice in the printer
select print
select advanced
select custom layout
move your margins to arrange the card in the preview window to how you want it to print
select Okay

You know can cut your card stock in half! add any additional embellishments to your card and you are done!!

stampers group meeting

My stampers meeting was a little off yesterday.. We were supposed to meet in the evening, but sense my oldest boy had a home football game (they WON) we meet during the day. Bad thing about that is that meant there was only 3 of us, good thing is that they got lots of extra goodies from me!

We made this super cute basket, I got the idea, instructions and everything for this from Becky over at Inking Idaho. She is the greatest and always has wonderful Ideas! The only thing I did different was I used 6 ovals for each pumpkin. I made the pumpkin, used a piece of Close to cocoa for the stem, and attached it to the front of the pumpkin. Then I added one more oval, this way the pumpkin looks good from all sides and it gives it a little more depth.

The next thing we made was a card using the sweet centers stamp set from the mini catalog. I basically did the same card as Mike Funke . I used Tasty sweet 111698 $19.95 for this card. I stamped the candy corn randomly over the whole front, and I embossed it in white on the back of the black tag ( see pic below) I love this set! I just love how this turned out!

For our final card we made this cute little guy, I was a total card caser this week! But Hey why reinvent the wheel (or card) when someone already has made a perfect one??? So I got this idea from Lori Ames , she said she got it from someone else.... you know! anyway For this card I used Lovely lilac and Green Galore. I cut the lovely lilac 4 1/4 x 2 3/4 and then used my scissors to make that great hair do! For the eyes and nose use the 1 inch circle punch and punch out 2 Green Galore and 2 white circles. Cut both Green Galore circle's in half and sponge with Green Galore classic ink. Use the 3/4 inch circle punch for the black. Stamp Friend. Good. ( from the stamp set Smarty pants) in Lovely lilac on Franks head ( I have always wanted a reason to use that stamp!!) now assemble your monster. Once assembled you will need to make his mouth and scar. I used a Basic black stampin write marker, the bold tip for the mouth and scar and the thin tip for the stitches. Also you will want to use the Singlo pen for a highlight on his pupils.

Build-a-Bear - Bath time fun

While at my sister and Brother in-laws over the weekend, I was giving my youngest son Chance (2 1/2) and his cousin Colton ( 3) a bath. Colton had a foam alphabet to use in the tub, the letters stuck to the tub when they were wet. This made me think..... I have fun foam, and I have Build-a-Bear sizzix dies. So today I gathered up my fun foam, It really is FUN!, and got out my dies. I was a little bummed to find that I did not have any brown foam in my stash...Oh well bears are white too!

I cut out my bears and then all my clothes. There is a little sleeve in with the clothes but it is such a little piece I will not let the little ones play with it.

I had to check out my work ... so off the the bathroom I went! All I need now is water, and wa-la! ( is that how you spell that???) They stick!!!
okay thanks to all who helped this spelling challenaged person ( thank goodness for spell check, too bad it's not always right!) So voila’
they sitck!! lol

I just love how this works! I know that Chance is going to have lots of fun playing with these! And even if he doesn't I know that I will!!

I don't have it pictured but to store these cute little guys and all the clothes I am using an empty stamp set box.

Shimmer paint!!

Wow what a busy week! 3 of my boys are back in school, YEAH!! Now I might just have time to stamp and share each day!!

ANY way back to the card. I LOVE the new Shimmer paint. On this card I used Platinum item #116807 ($5.95). Don't you just love how it shimmers!!

I did double duty with this card I did ways to use it challenge 235. RED. you can see the whole gallery here . And I promised I would use the Simmer paint this week on a card.

I used Delightful Decorations and Teeny Tiny Wishes. I used a Sponge dauber to apply the simmer paint to my stamps before stamping. You will want to let the image dry for a minute or so before you punch it out.

Also used on this card was Day and Night DSP and whisper white Taffata ribbon. I used the scallop edge punch, ornament punch, corner rounder, word window and designer label punch.

Card stock is just Real read and Basic Black. Also I used Silver cording and silver brads.

411 challange 115

This is the card I made for Stampin 411's challenge 115.

WOW what a fun challenge. And boy did I need the push. I have been in a bit of a rut lately. I think it has to do with all the stuff going on, the garden is ready and I have lots of canning to do. I have been feeling pretty guilty when I go into my stamp room knowing I should be in the kitchen working on Beans, or Pickles or oinions or carrots you get the picture!

But I decided that today I would stamp before I got to work in the kitchen, and I am super glad that I did!
I had so much fun making this card and I am SO LOVING this new set from the mini catty! Twick or Tweet item # 116497 for $18.95 and the new DSP Night and Day #116768 for $11.95 this paper comes with 2 black polka dot window sheets! How cool is that!

I used Basic Black cs for the card base, then layered that with Pumpkin Pie cs. I then used a layer of DSP from Night and Day ( 2 3/4 x 3/ 3/4) I love the swirls on this piece! I used a piece of Basic Black (2 3/4 x 5) and layered that with Pumpkin Pie again and then the DSP with writing from Night and Day.

I Stamped the Jack-o-lantern's on another piece of the Dsp with writing in Craft Basic black, then I sprinkled on iridescent ice Embossing powder. Heated that up with the Heat gun and WOW! I do love glitter! I used my Blender pens to color them in with Pumpkin Pie ink, and then I cut them out.

I Stamped them again using the Craft Basic Black onto the DSP for the card, and then used Dimensionals to pop them up.
I tied a piece of Black Grosgrain ribbon around that layer and then used Dimensionals to pop the whole thing up.

I was going to add a sentiment to the card, but I decided that I liked it just the way it was!
I can't wait to play more with this set, but must get back to the kitchen for now!

Christmas is coming....

I am starting to get ready for Christmas.. Oh man that is just a good feeling! I never get ready this early! But all the new sets in the Mini and the catalog have really inspired me!

I wanted to start my Christmas card sharing spree with this card I made last year. I loved it so much that I made extras to send out this year!
This card was made using Shellabrate, I love this set, mostly because I live on the Oregon coast! The image was colored using ink pads and blender pens. The base of the card is Creamy Caramel, and the DSP is from last years mini.. I really did love that paper (I horded some for this season!)
I stamped the little fish on the inside of this card, I love him! I was so happy to see that this little set made the cut for this year!

Be prepared I will be sharing alot of Christmas cards this next few weeks!

busy days

So I have been mia lately. I have to confess that summer has been catching up with me. And the fact that my trial to Adobe Photo Shop has ran out... well I can only hope that I can afford to purchase the real deal on payday! I have been having all sorts of problems with my other photo stuff on my computer, I didn't realize I had fixed so many pictures with Adobe, and now they will not open, so I cannot share them with you!

Until I can share some new cards and creations I want to share these great photos that I took last spring while on a girls vacation ( with 6 of my girl friends!) with you.

Take a guess of where these pic's were taken??? They were in the same building.

The first one to guess correctly will get a rak inspired by these pics.

Cardstock and Punch sampler ring

I am not the first to come up with this great idea, but I think I did okay with it!
I have been working hard to make this "just right" and I have it the way I like it now! Check this out, this is a ring with ALL of Stampin' Up!'s current cardstock. All of the 70 different cardstock and papers are cut into trading card size ( 2 1/2 x 3 1/2) and placed into individual protectors. All of the current punches are used. One punch per piece of cardstock. The cardstock name is on one side and the punch name and size is on the other side. They are all placed onto a large book ring.

What a great tool! I will be having a class on how to make these, but if you are not Florence anytime soon, you can order yours for $15 plus shipping. I will mail you a finished sampler, complete with all of Stampin' Up's current cardstock. All you will have to do it place it on your ring when it arrives!

Busy summer days

So I have been super busy with the boys, getting ready for school to start, football, school shopping and 2 birthdays! Jaeden just turned 15, WOW. and Tim will be 14 in a few (17) days, he is counting, lol.

I wanted to share a great pic of all the boys from a recent camping trip. We decided to check out an old mine. Turns out it only closed a few years ago, but it is up in the mountains and looks much older than it is!

So I haven't had as much time to stamp as I would like to But do have some older cards that I stamped to share with you.

This is a favorite of mine. I used some Designer paper that is no longer available, but is is a favorite of mine! To make the Pumpkins I used the small and large oval punches from Stampin' Up! I set 2 ovals same size on the paper and then took the 3rd same size oval and used stampin dimesionals to pop it up. I cut a small piece of the designer paper , about 1/4 inch and folded it in half to make the stems. for the little curly q's I cut little strips of paper and curled them very carefully with my scissors.
Tell me are you getting ready for fall?? It is my favorite time of year!!

LNS Challange #32

So I did another challenge, this time for LNS, we were to case sort of a sample from the catalog, but make it kid themed. So I cased pg 101 .....

So what do you think?? I Used the Big Bold cupcake sizzlits and Crazy for cupcakes stamp set.
I used Chocolate chip ribbon, which I tied with linen thread to make the neat little puckers. The paper is Choc chip, tempting turquoise, Bashful blue, Melon Mambo and Very Vanilla. I used Rich Razzleberry ink, and Tempting Turquoise marker. The bithday hats on the card are stamped off first to make them not to bright on the card.To make that cute Cupcake I ran the Melon Mambo cs and Choc. chip cs through the Big Shot to make the top. I then took the Choc. Chip piece and ran it through again using the polka dot die from the set. For the cupcake bottom I ran that through the crimper. Had to dust that baby off first!

The next one I made for the challenge was a CASE from Pg 100 of the IBC. I used Sizzix box #2 in Bashful blue cs. I cut the Cupcake out in Melon Mamba, and Choc. chip. I then took the Choc. Chip one and ran it through again using the Polka dot die that came in the set. I did the Bottom in Tempting turquoise, and ran it through the crimper. I stamped the phrase in Rich Razzleberry and temping Turquoise, then punched it out with the Designer label punch. On the Box I closed it all up but left the flaps out on the top and punched a hole for the Melon Mambo polka dot ribbon , which I tied in a bow.

A clean stamping space

A while back I said I was cleaning my stamp room, but forgot to share the pictures with you.

So this is my stamping space.....

This is my Desk area, I have a six foot long table, backed up to a wall. I have my ink pads in a holder I bought ages ago from someone in Boise, Id. It is great it holds 48 colors

and the refills. I always meant to hang it on the wall, but it

has been great just sitting on the desk.

In the rolling cart I have my adhesive in the top 2 left drawers, and cutting tools ( blades, templates) in the 3rd drawer on the left. In the right drawers i currently have all my punches, 4 drawers hold those. The top right drawer has my heat tool, and other misc. things I use often.

In the bottom right drawer I have my Sixxix dies, it holds all I have right now... the large door on the left hides my Big Shot and some of the Bigs XL dies.

Above the cart I have a self that holds my current ribbons, all my markers, and the rest of my ink pads.

This is the best thing my DH has ever made for me! he made 2 of these great cabinets, although he did it for selfish reasons ( he didn't want to look at my stuff anymore). They were supposed to hold all of my things, but as you can see I have lots out on shelves!

I have one cabinet for all my SU stamping stuff, I keep all my stamp sets, old DSP, thing to stamp on, and Business supplies. The other cabinet in the room is for all my other crafts that I do, Quilting, Scrapbooking, painting. Also I keep all my photos in the other cabinet.

This is the inside of my Stamping cabinet. The top inside shelves hold all my current stamps, old DSP, extra adhesive and Stampables.

The bottom is too messy to share, but I have my retired sets and Business supplies.

These are the selves above my work area.

On these shelves I have my most used items, PAPER is close at hand. This saves me so much time! I have a turn about box that I got from Target for my handheld punches, scissors, brushes, wheel handles and I store my embossing powders in the drawers.

All my SU brads and buttons are in the storage caddy. Which is hiding ( only in the photos) on my desk behind the square storage caddy.

Above my paper I keep old copies of Stampin' Success and all the past issues of the catalog. I have cute little boxes scatted on my shelves to hold misc embellishments labeled for seasons.

On the top shelf I have my contraband. All my flowers, buttons and LOTS of ribbon. Also I keep photos of my boys when they were sweet and cuddly ( teenagers NOT so sweet, cute and cuddly)
I keep all my wheels in the storage boxes.

For paper storage I use the Stamping up paper holders, I have 4 colors per box. I have then in order of SU color family's. This makes knowing which colors I am running low on easy for ordering or deciding what to use for class! I use the dividers, and keep all my scraps to the right of the whole sheet for easy locating.

For my scrap neutrals , I keep them on my desk at the ready. I have them in a clear shoe box, I try to keep them in order of color/type, but its not to bad to look through this box for a piece to stamp on.

I keep all my current 12x12 papers in these clear stackable holders I picked up from the local scrap store.

Next to my table to the right I have a little desk area with my computer and printer, also I keep a rolling bin with Kids crafts in it. No pic, to messy to share!

My little turtle

I love this little guy! This cute little Turtle is from the Very Thankful set. This is our Ronald McDonald house stamp set. $2 from every set sold goes to the charity To make this cute card I used the Watercolor with Markers technique. It is super fun and really easy to do. I had a great Card Class this month, I however forgot to take pictures before class and I always give at least 2 cards to the facility as a thank you.

This is one of the great cards we made this month. I saw a card just like this somewhere, just not sure where... so if you were first to make this card please tell me so I can give you credit!

This has got to be one of my favorite cards that I have made.
I made this bad boy for a swap a while back. I really miss this DSP, it was one of my favs! so you probably want the details on this card...
Stamp sets: Forest friends, All holidays
Ink: Chocolate Chip classic pad; Old olive, Choc. Chip, and Regal Rose markers
paper: Good Morning Sunshine DSP; Choc. Chip, Regal rose, Whisper White card stock
Choc. Chip double stitched Ribbon, texture plates and Big Shot
I ran the regal rose cs through the Big Shot with the Polka dot texture plate, then I attached the DSP and the ribbon before I attached it to the card base. for the focal point I use the markers to color the words and stamped onto the whisper white cs, then I used the Stamp-a-ma-jig to stamp the deer in the perfect spot.

I am loving the Movers and Shapers die for the Big Shot. This is the first card I made with it. It is a simple card, but I love it!

For this card I used the Melon Mambo card stock, and the Melon Mambo ribbon. I used the Razzleberry Lemonade DSP and a sentiment from the new stamp set Teeny Tiny Wishes. I stamped my words on to Whisper white cs in Rich Razzleberry ink, then punched it out with the Modern Label punch. I sponged the edge with Soft Suede ink before I attached it.

Simple Butterfly

Today's card is a simple, yet I think beautiful one. To make this card I used a Chocolate chip card stock base , I layered a

piece of Choc chip DSP on the top, and a strip of Close to Cocoa on the bottom section. I tied a piece of Pretty in Pink taffeta ribbon around the Close to cocoa piece before I adhered it to the card. I ran a piece of pink DSP thru the Big Shot using the Beautiful Butterflies Bigz die. I then used Crystal effects to adhere the 2 half halfback white pearls from the Pretties kit. To finish off the card I added a sentiment from the Chit chat rub-ons pack to the Close to Cocoa strip.

I hope you enjoy this card! I know I did.

Family reunion

Oh how I miss my family. They all live 500 miles away, so visits are far and few between and the drive is, well LONG. The boys did really good on this trip, they slept almost the whole 10 hours there, but that's only because I made them stay up the night before.

My boys love to fish and a trip to Idaho would Kill them, or so they think, without a stop at the Snake river for Cat fishing.

They usually catch more than they did this trip, only 2,so we gave them to Great-Grandpa and he really loved them!

I was having so much fun hanging out with my family that I totally forgot to take any pictures at the family reunion, I am pretty bummed about that. I am sure that my sweet sisters and cousins will share with me though!

I did take some pics of our sisters night out, which was the calmest (is that a word?) it has ever been. I think we were all tired, and it was supper hot in Idaho. I think I picked the worst time to visit, 105 on Sat! and that is about 40 degrees hotter than where we live!

This me, My big sis Honey (yes that really is her name, her real name) and my little sis Angie. (we always take a self portrait on our outings)

On our way home we decided to stop at a desert lake that we have driven by 2-3 times a year for the last 10 years, and NEVER stopped... Well it was pretty darn neat. A good sized lake in the middle of the desert, you can not see it from the hwy so I have always wondered why do all these people stop and camp there ( you can see their campers). While we were there I did remember my camera. We saw a flock of White pelicans, in the desert of all places! I am used to seeing them here on the coast, but have never seen them inland! We did see a few other strange looking birds, but have no clue what they were. We will have to make sure we stop and take pictures next time, and bring our bird book!

So that is what I have been up too. Hopefully I will get some stamping in soon!

I started off with the sketch from Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge #78

but sometime we end up doing something completly different!

So this is my first time using the Inspired by Nature set. I used watercolor crayons and colored directly onto the rubber. Before coloring on the rubber I misted the stamp lightly with water. after coloring I misted again, and I misted the watercolor paper that I stamped on.
After the image was completly dry I placed my rub on, and rubbed it on...
I layered the stamped image onto Night of Navy cardstock. I tied a piece of Mellow Moss taffeta ribbon around the bottom. and then layered this onto a Whisper White card base.

I did a Splitcoast challange!!

So I did it, I said I would start doing them, and I actually did!! I did a Splitcoast challange, challange SC237, and how fun it was...

So I will tell you what I did for my card. I started off with a Basic gray card base. I used Rich Razzelberry and Basic Black as my main colors. I used the dotted image from Extreme Elements and stamped in down the long piece with Versamark ink. While that was drying I stamped the pirate in Versamark onto a piece of shimmer white, then embossed it with black embossing powder. I then stamped the other images from Extreme Elements over the pirate image in Rich Razzleberry.

I then used my template from my mat pack to place 18 vintage brads. I am very happy with the way this turned out. ( my boys even like the card, they said "finally and cool card")

Okay so I know I went from no posts to being a bit post happy, but I realized how easy this is and I have been stampin' like crazy lately!! so I did the challange from Stamping 411 and I have to share it with you!

So I have been playing around and trying to get a little more computer savy, I wanted to add a watermark to my pictures, and so I spent all day yesterday downloading Adobe photoshop 7, had I known it would take 8 hours to download, I would have just went to town and bought it! Anyway I went to Stampin Kub and checked out this video I watched it ages ago, and needed a refesher. so here is my new watermark, what do you think??

The card btw is one I made for a cousin who lost her brother a few years ago.

I know I don't haved a lot in my gallery, I am tring to get better about sharing my creations!
